1 March 2010: NV's 20th birthday, Chopin's 200th birthday, Monkey Hill and Dr. Altschuler -- geese along the Brandywine River and Park

On this first day of March, the 20th birthday of Norma Virginia Nyhoff, ensconced at Carleton College in Northfield, MN, and the 200th anniversary of the birth of Frederic Chopin, mom is in the hospital recovering from severe dehydration and dad had an appointment with his seldom-seen internist, Dr. Robert Altschuler, the gregarious marathoner who acceded to dad's wishes regarding his care. His office, right by Salesianum is a hop, skip and a jump from the Brandywine Zoo and Monkey Hill, the place where I had a sledding accident and dad bared my bottom to those assembled in the stone building (which is still there). Today, a chilly and windy day but the snow has melted in large part, I walked Dancer along the road and along the river, brilliant and reflective sun of the surface of the river as ducks alighted on the surface and Canadian geese swam in the middle.
