Fear of Friday the 13th, called paraskevidekatriaphobia (from ΠαρασκευήParaskevi, Greek for Friday) or friggatriskaidekaphobia (after Frigg, the Norse goddess Friday is named after in English).

It's spelled wrong in this gif but I
like the artwork.
I kidded Loyd Dillon about his post today as he only mentioned the friggatriskaidekaphobes and forgot the lengthier syllabic term, paraskevidekatriaphobes.
Great haircut from Debra or Debbie on a more informal basis, a '71 grad of Dickinson HS
and a master stylist and soon-to-be certified nurse assistant when she graduates a nearby
program. She has cut hair almost 40 years and use to work in a hospital setting and cut
patients and employees' (including the doctors and surgeons) hair. She had a contract at
Pelleport. Effusive and delightful, she did a fine job. Care providing was in her past, too.
Today was the 5th anniversary of her mother's death and she cared for her father also.
Found, amazingly, someone to cut my hair on a regular basis on the first go-round at a
nationwide outlet, Great Cuts.

We're back, just over two months gone, to the trail that takes you to Mill Creek. No dip today, it's too cold as snow lines the paved walkway. Just a gorgeous Friday afternoon in Delaware.
Words with Doug, not uncommon lately, these about the number, believe it or not, of LPs that I want to bring to the visitation. He sees no reason for excess. Everything honed down. I just said "fuck it" and took the records up stairs. Nobody other than me needs to know what these recordings meant to him and his musical spirit. Who the hell cares about Heifetz, or Toscanini, Tauber, or Schwartzkopf for that matter. (Addendum: the foul word is unnecessary as is my continued state of unease ... albums of Toscanini, Piaf, Tauber, Heifetz and Horwitz will go to the funeral home and its 5-disc CD player ... need to place the play function on random. Could be interesting.)
I left without talking, and the result was an extended walk with Dancer at Delcastle Park first and then the above trail, off Millcreek Road (parked in the golf driving range and women's softball fields and soccer fields recreation area) that takes you to the Mill Creek, as in stream, and which was absolutely desolate except for a few walkers and their dogs, oh, a couple of runners, too. Such a shame it's not more utilized.

The check has been written for the funeral to be delivered to Mealey Funeral Homes
tomorrow at the visitation. The total: $3,425.00. I wrote the check in dad's office and in
his old chair.
Just got a call from Nick on the landline and they've found one another in BWI Airport and
are in their Alamo rental car on the way here. They will not be stopping to eat with Jan so
they're headed right here. We'll go to Valentina's. Hopefully Doug, who still has to pick
up Norma and NV at the Philly Airport tonight at 9:30 will be able to go, too. It will be
at least an hour, Nick said traffic was heavy.
Spoke to Teri Vertucci (aka, Twinkletoes), on the phone with mom, about her trip in
the early morning
with her dad to be here for the visitation. There'll be some weather ... snow predicted
tomorrow and no idea how the NJ Turnpike and NY and CT roads will be like. Hope
they're careful. Teri sounds like she's more than capable of driving down safely. She
asked about the location of the funeral home on Limestone Road.
FINALLY my Credo phone is activated. Had to punch in the ## code to get the phone
initialized but my first call was to mom right next door and she groaned as she went
for the phone. My second was to Nick in the car on his way to Wilmington with his
mom driving and his sister in the front (?) or back seat. The reception was excellent.

They arrived, a few minutes after I texted Nick with the question ... "How close?" ... and
the immediate response ... "up the road, two minutes". And they showed up safe and
sound and wonderful and went up and saw mom, who reveled in their presence, and then
we went to Crossroads and had just a sterling meal and joyous conversation. Just a magical
night. When we got home, Susan & Lindsay headed for the Red Roof Inn in their Alamo
rental, a Toyota Corolla, Maryland tags. They will be here in the morning and we will head
over to the funeral home to set up for the visitation. Everything appears in order.
When they first arrived, the girls -- Lindsay & Susan -- talked with grandmom & ex-mother-in-law.Notice the intensity and focus of Susan on mom as she talks and gesticulates.
Two of the most beautiful people in my world at the dinner table at Crossroads, on Friday, 12/13/13.
Back from dinner at Crossroads, grandmom and grandson had a little time together.
